My offset become at this block was not good at all - information technology broke up to $.25....And so I decided to add what is called No Egg replacement by Norgran...which helps bind the cake a bit more....The cake was a huge success. Thanks for this recipe! I have a son that is Allergic to eggs & dairy and it was prissy to be able to make a cake that tastes so wonderful. I have passed this recipe on to other mothers in the same gunkhole as me who besides wish to say thank you. Best Regards from Sydney Australia.

This is some tasty stuff! Vinegar is an interesting surprise ingredient in this, but you tin't taste information technology at all in this recipe. I have tried this cake recipe without the chocolate chips, but instead of 1 loving cup of h2o, I used 1 cup of Chocolate Soy Milk. This makes an incredibly moist cake!

This is a ridiculously good chocolate block recipe. I didn't tell my family this had no eggs or dairy, and they all said information technology was astonishing. For my personal taste it needs a bit of frosting, the sweet volition accentuate the chocolate perfectly. To anybody who had problem with gritty cake, I would tell you that you didn't mix it enough. I whisked mine for at to the lowest degree 3 minutes. If information technology doesn't look just like normal cake batter you need to mix more than, if information technology looks oily on top with bits of crumbs within keep mixing. This is a new keeper recipe for me!

Awesome recipe. I fabricated this for my daughter'southward 1st birthday political party as she has a cow's milk allergy. It was a hit! I did think there was as well much oil so instead of five TBSP of oil, I substituted 3 TBSP of oil and iii TBSP of applesauce. When I make this over again, I will leave out the (non-dairy) chocolate chips as they really didn't add to the cake.

I was, like anybody else, skeptical. But this recipe is perfect! My daughter's grade has a student allergic to eggs and nuts and I have no feel with this at all. Her teacher recommended this recipe to me and it worked nifty! I didn't employ the choco fries, but the cake was beautiful. It works great for cupcakes besides. The only trouble I constitute was that no one really said how much it made. This volition brand the 8X8 pan listed, merely that is only about 12-14 good sized cupcakes. I ended up having to go dorsum and make a whole new batch for the 24 I needed. Well worth the effort. Perfect!

Tried this for my boyfriends 22nd altogether. He'southward allergic to everything including dairy, egg, nut, and soy. Did not expect it to turn out half as proficient as it did. Surprised me when it tasted just as good, if not amend then a normal chocolate cake! Was a big hit, and would definately arrive once again.
10/22/2002
This block was soooo yummy! I used Pillsbury Milk Chocolate Flavor icing (contains no dairy) and my family loved it! My daugher is highly allergic to milk, eggs & nuts. Now I accept a cake to make her when she goes to altogether parties. She can accept her chocolate cake and soy ice cream and exist "1 of the regular kids" without feeling left out. It was very easy to make and economical too. Cheers so much to Bridget for sending this in!

I made this equally a snack for my friend whose daughters have egg allergies. I couldn't believe how quick, easy and tasty this was!! Both girls seemed to like it, and nosotros adults really liked it. It was very light and nice and chocolatey (I did employ Ghiradelli choc chips). The center did puff upward, and information technology was well done at the minimum cook time in my oven, so I would propose checking the cake maybe after 25 minutes so yous don't over practice it.
07/24/2002
All my boyfriends friends are vegan and any cakes they have tried to bake have been consummate failures and tasted awful. With it being my boyfriend'southward 18th altogether I idea I'd give information technology a become myself. I tried this cake, expecting it not to work, then when we tasted it, it was amazing...too good to be truthful. He couldn't believe it was vegan and didn't have any dairy products. Highly recommended to everyone! It was totally like shooting fish in a barrel to make!

I found this recipe the solar day after I found out my beautiful daughter was egg and dairy allergic. I was overwhelmed with the situation, and needed to put something together quickly for a altogether party that night (equally I am now one of "those" moms). This recipe was actually very good. I did it as written. I did not detect it to be too chewy, or brownie like. I fabricated 10 cupcakes and cooked them for 25 mins on 350. Probably could have been less, but I like a nice size cupcake. In a strange style, this recipe was so good- it gave me the conviction to know I can still feed my daughter great-tasting foods, while non worrying most her allergies.

This cake was admittedly fantastic. We made it for my son's kickoff birthday. He has no allergies, but ii of the little ones who were attending did, and I was at my wit'south end trying to find something good online. I made this into 30 mini cupcakes (325 degrees F at eighteen mins was perfect) and nobody could believe they were eggless. I besides left out the chocolate chips, but added another tablespoon of sifted cocoa. The secret is very much in the mixing - it'southward about impossible to overmix this concoction, which is great for mini-cupcakes when the batter gets handled and scooped a lot. For reference, I made some other set of cupcakes today using an egg-and-dairy recipe, and they were totally junior to this recipe hither. I'll be using this i from now on... and it'south and so cheap to make! Very much a WWII-ration-friendly cake, and 1 that is going to be a permanent staple of our household. We look forward to concocting other flavours! Thanks over again!

A MAJOR FLOP! Don't waste product your time or your ingredients (even though they're inexpensive ingredients). Salvage time and bake an apple pie or something like that, which can too be egg-gratuitous, dairy-gratis, and nut-free. This block was rediculous. The training was piece of cake, the batter didn't look bad only the cooking took forever and subsequently over 40-45 minutes of only plainly baking!!, I Causeless it was washed (which it should have been) and information technology was all gooey and gummy on the within and bottom. I followed the directions perfectly and it turned out horrible! A WASTE OF TIME! The only person who would like this block is a person who is utterly starving or out of their senses. Sorry, simply I must exist honest...this block but SUCKED! On a happier note, Happy Holidays!
09/02/2010
Tin can be gluten free too! I used Bob's All Purpose Gluten Gratuitous flour, added three/iv tsp xanthan glue... and it'due south the Best dairy free gluten complimentary cake I've e'er tried. And we've tried a lot in the last 5 years - including many from bakeries. This is far meliorate! Also - I experimented with a "cutting out" block for my son's birthday and institute that if you refridgerate or freeze this cake, you tin cut it into shapes rather well.
06/20/2009
Use soy milk instead of h2o - add vinegar to soy milk and gear up aside to curdle while mixing dry ingredients. The reaction of the acid in the sour milk and the alkali of the baking soda makes for perfect leavening, no eggs required. This should help those who idea information technology was too dumbo.
07/05/2009
I was amazed at how adept this block was. I read some of the other reviews and followed the advice of using almond milk instead of water and beating the mix for at to the lowest degree 3 minutes and it turned out perfectly. The best office was our 4 year erstwhile friend who attended our altogether party could partake in eating the cake as she is allergic to eggs and dairy. Thanks!
01/02/2008
I made this and everyone loved it! Who knew a chocolate cake could be so elementary! Information technology is very moist which was great. I doubled the recipe and put into a 9x13 pan and information technology was perfect. Thanks for sharing!
06/xvi/2010
This was awful. Information technology came out similar a rubbery Frisbee, and was completely inedible. The vinegar was overpowering.
04/10/2011
I am blown away by this cake! I used Bob's Carmine Mill gluten-free flour blend and so that all of the daycare kids would be able to eat this. My daughter is turning one tomorrow and she is allergic to dairy. I am so pleased with the way this cake turned out! (I omitted the chocolate chips and I substituted coconut milk for the water.)
05/24/2002
This cake is soooo delicious. I made it and no one missed the eggs! It's the just eggless cake I've seen that doesn't phone call for some egg substitute. It was a huge hitting!
07/26/2010
Oh my goodness! Such a moist cake nevertheless very chocolatey too! You wouldnt find dairy and eggs missing from this block. I didnt even add the chocolate fries! The block does non rise so whatever depth your mixtures fills the pan - that the depth of the cake your block will be. I fabricated two to sandwich together!
09/17/2008
This cake is very moist and very chocolatey! No 1 e'er believes that it is dairy free and egg complimentary!!! - I make it for every one of my sons birthday parties every bit many children are allergic to dairy and eggs. Some of the parents with children allergic have also asked for this recipe they honey information technology so much! My 'TIP' is that since I tin never find the diary free chocolate chips, I blend up a dairy costless chocolate bar (most nighttime chocolate confined are dairy complimentary!)-(Dark-green&Blacks for lushness!) until its nearly a powder and measure it out that style! I think it probably makes it even more chocolatey!!! YUM!
01/xv/2014
This is the best egg free cake I take ever made. I added Via instant coffee to the water and omitted the chips, but other and so that stuck strictly to the recipe. Fabricated 12 perfect cupcakes, with amend crowns and so whatsoever cake I have ever made. I admittedly admire the Victory Chocolate Cake on this site, simply my girl's allergies make it a no go for our house desserts. With the addition of the coffee to this at that place is no flavor difference, but a slightly more moist/dense crumb This is a great base recipe that can be tweaked for individual tastes, a sign of a bang-up baking recipe! ***Update*** Needed a modify of pace, so I adapted to make a yellow cake with these changes: Used 5 Tbls. melted butter in place of oil, increased vanilla to 1 Tbls., and of course omitted the chocolate powder and chips. This came out so calorie-free and airy, and the flavor is out of this earth!(If butter is off your card you could probably keep the oil or try another butter flavor substitute).

EXCELLENT! I am a nursing mom who's son has a milk, egg and soy intolerance, which means some major diet changes for me. I dearest my sweets, and then this has been tough, esp. over the holidays. This was a Swell find and really helped run into my chocolate peckish. Moist and succulent. Even my 3 twelvemonth old and husband beloved information technology! Thank Y'all for sharing and making my twenty-four hours!
07/01/2005
I fabricated this cake for my swain who is allergic to nuts and eggs, but okay with dairy. I used Ghiradelli chocolate chips, and the block was FANTASTIC!! I frosted information technology with store-bought dark chocolate frosting and topped it with sprinkles. The cake was a hit with my whole family unit. Cracking recipe - perfect for people with allergies. Thanks!
07/27/2010
I've baked dissimilar kinds of vegan cakes for our son. He'south allergic to eggs, dairy, and basics. I take to agree west/ some of the other users on how it falls apart. The primal is to let it sit for an 60 minutes before trying them. Information technology will stay business firm and concur together. Every bit for the chocolate chips, I did westward/out because the sugar intake besides as my son having allergies to the chocolate chips. I broiled both kinds just to taste the difference and in that location wasn't any. I crumbled upwardly some oreo cookies and placed them on top of Pilsbury vanilla frosting which is made w/ soy, (useful info for those westward/ dairy allergies) and it was delish.
01/18/2010
I honey information technology! My son, who is allergic to eggs, has not had a decent cookie/cake/cupcake in his life. Other (chocolate) cakes always had a strange aftertaste or were gummy. This is the best egg-free bakery item he (and I) take ever tasted. I made the recipe into 12 cupcakes, instead of a cake. Baked them at 350ºF for 23 minutes and they came out perfect. I used chopped up semi-sugariness bakers chocolate instead of the chips. It gives the recipe a rich, corrupt taste. This is one to call up. Give thanks you!
01/29/2007
Wow, I was skeptical, but with my son's egg allergy I thought I would requite information technology a try. The concoction was super runny and I About threw information technology out. I decided to just run into how it would turn out and I am glad I did. It was the best chocolate block I have ever had. Way improve than a box mix. The chocolate fries all sank to the bottom of the pan and somehow managed to not melt into the concoction, that is the only reason I didn't give information technology a 5.
03/xix/2012
These turned out fine when I but used 1/4 teaspoon table salt and increased the chocolate by one heaping teaspoon as someone had mentioned. I tried varying the recipe for vanilla flavour, just it e'er turned out too dense. My married man doesn´t similar it every bit much every bit when I make it with milk for him. But for me who can´t have the milk, it´s fine. I plant making it into cupcakes was best.
07/14/2011
a lil over chocolatety at times but information technology's good to be egg and dairyfree... vinegar, who knew?
04/07/2008
I have a friend whose two twelvemonth former has 30+ food allergies, including nuts, eggs and dairy foods. I offset made this cake for my girl's birthday party and so that he could swallow the same as the other kids - what an easy recipe, and tastes like simply about any other chocolate cake. I do add a splash of Wilton'due south imitation butter flavour to arrive a trivial richer (when I remember). Using oil instead of butter even makes it easier to stir (no 'creaming'!) then my preschoolers can more easily participate in making the cake as well. I now make either cupcakes or cake with this recipe every time we are at an event at their house or vice versa. The mom thinks it's such a large bargain that I brand a 'special' block only then her son tin eat with the other kids, she merely won't believe me when I tell her information technology's REALLY no big deal with this recipe!! lol. There's a 'come across the baby' party at their house for a new arrival in a couple of weeks, and we've already RSVP'd "plus block" :)
02/10/2008
Merely Dear this .... for a mother of a child with a peanut allergy this is PERFECT. Tastes great. Since I'm more aware of children with allergies and some that don't know they have allergies this is a Bully safe guard.
06/16/2000
The preparation and mixing of the concoction was easy, I baked for the recommended amount of time and when i opened the oven door. The block had exploded all over my oven. The outer cake was cooked but the centre was a gooey mess. I have never had this happen to me. I am going to utilise traditional recipes in the future.
08/xvi/2007
Delicious, easy recipe. The simply thing I omitted was the chocolate chips, but they gustatory modality moist and chocolatey without them. I make these equally cupcakes (350 degrees for 20 minutes), frost them with Pillsbury frosting (dairy and egg-free), and freeze them. That fashion I tin easily bring a few to altogether parties so my son doesn't feel left out by non having all the treats at the party.
11/21/2010
This is the commencement nutrient-allergy-friendly treat I've ever tried to make. My son will exist jubilant his offset altogether next month and so I tried this recipe out then I tin bake him a cake he can actually consume, or make a mess out of. =D I followed the recipe to the T for this first try and I am extremely happy with the event. I reduced the cooking fourth dimension to 25 minutes since I fabricated cupcakes out of them instead of a canvass block. I also sifted all my dry ingredients just to aid with the density. The result is a lite and fluffy cupcake that tastes chocolaty, non too sweetness and you won't miss the egg. I am extremely happy with the result. Happy cooking! Happy eating!
11/25/2009
I made this block today and it is a flat gewy slice of something.. just non cake. When Is tarted mixing information technology it was so clumpy that I used a handmixer to get it smoothen. I am not sure if that messed it upwards? I am sad, after all these rave reviews I was excited to finally make a block for my allergic son that he tin can enjoy. If anyone knows why it turned out this way, let me know
10/23/2011
This cake is amazing - I did brand a few changes: I used whole wheat pastry flour (information technology's the just flour I keep in the house), doubled the amount of cocoa (I also used Dutch processed, don't know if it made a difference), chocolate soy milk instead of water, 3 tablespoons canola oil and 3 tablespoons apple tree/prune infant food, and I added an egg white (so it's not vegan, but notwithstanding dairy free). I made this for my sister's altogether - she LOVES chocolate, just is allergic to dairy. She actually had to "take a break" considering it was then rich and chocolatey, but she LOVED it! The whole family unit did - in fact, they said I could sell it at our local coffee store, it was so good. It really was amazingly rich, chocolatey, and moist with the changes I made. Try information technology - you'll love it!
02/03/2011
I accept made this cake several times and information technology always goes over amazingly! It turns out moist, fluffy so Delicious! I constitute, though, that mixing the chocolate chips in the batter fabricated the block flat and heavy, and so I only put them between the 2 layers of cake instead.
04/xx/2010
I made this block last week. Information technology was amazingly delicious. I had/used Special Nighttime Cocoa and Special Night Chips. I notice sifting the cocoa makes it easier to incorporate. Also used iii/4 c. chips. Kids ate it all in 1 dark.
05/07/2005
I'm lactose intolerant, and so I idea I'd requite this a get since I had some semi-sweet chocolate chips in the house (which are dairy-free, at least the variety I bought.) Overall, I thought this was pretty tasty, only would benefit from frosting, which I didn't have the ingredients for. It's a petty crumbly, but other than that, information technology's cracking. I cooked it in a 7x11 dish and 35 minutes was perfect timing.
08/fourteen/2009
This recipe was awesome! I used chocolate soy milk instead of water and added the vingear to the milk and set it aside while mixing dry ingredients. I likewise took out the chocolate chips and you can't even tell its egg and dairy gratuitous!! Very moist and chocolatey!!
07/11/2007
I came across this recipe while doing some enquiry for a wedding cake I was making for a friend who is allergic to dairy and eggs. I've made a examination recipe and let him and his fiance try it. They loved it. In fact they called a few days subsequently and begged for the recipe to satisfy a "condom chocolate" craving. Not but that, merely my family enjoyed information technology too. Nice to add this one to the block repetoire!!
11/04/2011
I just recently institute this recipe and I am glad I did. My 2yr old daughter as well suffers from severe allergies including but not limited to wheat, egg, dairy, peanut, etc. I fabricated this cake for her 2nd altogether and it was fabulous. No one at her political party even knew! I just frosted it with a reg. can of pilsbury confetti frosting and it was perfect!! The simply problem I had was that the chocolate chips stuck to the bottom of the pan then I am non really sure what I did wrong. Other than that it was really fantastic. I will somewhen try it with a gluten free flour but she tolerated the amount of flour in this pretty adept. This is definately a recipe staple in my household. Thank you and so much. This enables my tiny tot to have something sweet when she is express by so much.
03/31/2011
Amazing!! This cake is moist and succulent. I chose information technology not because of allergies but considering I had no dairy ingredients and wanted block! lol Instead of 1 cup common cold water I brewed a few cups strong coffee and chilled ane loving cup. I as well added crushed walnuts (since I usually LOVE them in brownies). This is a keeper!
09/ten/2011
These were bully! To go on it completely dairy gratis I used chocolate soy morsels and they were really yummy (and I added ane cup instead of 1/2). For baking cupcakes, you just need to bake them for about 18 minutes. I also made a different version that was however egg costless but not completely dairy free considering I used white chocolate chips. Several of the petty kids didn't similar the chocolate version, and so instead of the cocoa and chocolate fries, I added 1.5 tsp of lemon extract (forth with the vanilla extract) and white chocolate chips. The kids loved them=)
12/28/2010
I made this block for our family Christmas so that my nephew with egg allergy could take cake. Information technology was succulent and moist. More than like a credibility but oh so much amend than trying to doctor a box mix to go egg-less. I will definitely make this block once more. First time I made it everything went great, 2d time I made it I forgot the chocolate fries; they practise help with making it a richer flavor but it was still practiced without them.
01/26/2010
Thanks for this neat recipe! I looked up recipes for eggless cakes for my toddler's birthday political party since he's allergic to eggs and basics. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, only hoped for the best. It was a hit! I highly recommend this recipe. I'yard glad my son can enjoy cake from time to time and have realized that eggs are not necessary to have a succulent dessert. : )
06/02/2011
SO good. My trivial one noted that information technology does have a bit of a cherry hue to it - sort of similar red velvet, but no where near as red (guessing that'due south from the vinegar and baking soda) ;) Merely gave up cows' dairy - but am about 7 months pregnant - and not near to surrender snacks! This recipe totally saves the twenty-four hour period. Thanks!!
03/22/2012
I am surprised at the rating for this recipe. It tasted like bad fudge. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. Eggs and dairy definitely brand a huge difference in my book. I merely wanted to effort this considering I lacked the main 2 succulent ingredients.
10/eighteen/2006
OMG this cake ROCKS! Fixed it for my not-dairy guests and they couldn't believe it. I used the soy milk instead of the water and YUM. I am going to try to use cold coffee and see how that works. Not only is this the all-time ever dairy-complimentary cake simply it's the best always chocolate cake! THANKS!
05/eighteen/2010
It'due south a decent cake. I wouldn't rave about it. The consistency is more like a brownie.
01/23/2004
Only amazing! Our daughter may accept an egg allergy, and then while nosotros wait to observe out for sure, we have to avoid eggs. I came across this recipe and nosotros made x cup cakes out of information technology! I also used an eggless frosting that I hope to post soon. This cake was very moist and it didn't terminal long! We fabricated this for our daughter's First Birthday Political party and kids and parents just raved. Give thanks you Bridget!
08/28/2011
Used lemon juice instead of vinegar, heart-balled the common salt, cocoa, baking soda and vanilla, used a footling actress oil and a little less h2o, used whole wheat flour, skipped the choco chips...AND Information technology WORKED VERY WELL!
10/16/2011
GREAT!!!! Have received many compliments. People are very surprised when I tell them it is an allergen free cake.
ten/23/2011
I am so glad I plant this recipe! My daughter has multiple food allergies. She is allergic to cow's milk, nuts & eggs. This cake turned but as skillful equally the regualr cakes I've made or eaten. I tin can't believe how good information technology is! It is so moist! I am just glad to finally find something that she can enjoy other the usual stuff that she's allowed to have. I look forward to continuing looking for more than recipes of this type. Thank you!
08/23/2008
All-time chocolate cake recipe always! I am a vegan and was actually happy to brand a block which my non-vegan family could savor without thinking of it as a vegan cake (which, in the past, haven't gotten such high remarks by my family!). I made a few adjustments, however. I am kind of a health freak, and then I used evaporated cane juice as sugar, whole wheat flour, unsweetened cocoa pulverisation, and changed the oil to 3tbsp natural absurdity & 2tbsp veg oil. I also used mini semi-sweetness chocolate chips because I read reviews saying the chips didn't melt enough. The minis melted but perfectly, and gave the sense that there was icing intricately placed inside my cake! As for icing, the cake would have done fine without it, but I dusted the top with powdered carbohydrate and it was perfect! I volition DEFINITELY make this cake again and once more and once again! Thank y'all!! :)
06/fourteen/2005
YUM! This recipe made 12 cute cupcakes for a cupcake walk at school. I wanted my daughter to accept a pick if she won, since she's allergic to dairy.I frosted with Tianne's Chocolate Frosting 1 (substituting soy milk and using d-f margarine). I didn't tell anyone they were dairy gratis, and they were the first ones gone. Super good, super easy and allergy friendly. We'll employ this one once again and again. Cheers for a great recipe, Bridget!
09/21/2006
Made this recipe for a coworker who couldn't normally enjoy corporate birthday cakes. Information technology was a hit! Everyone else who tried it couldn't believe was fabricated without eggs.
09/thirteen/2009
This recipe is FANTASTIC and past far the BEST egg/nut/dairy free cake recipe I have tried (and I've tries MANY). The but change I made was I substituted Chocolate Soy Milk for the water. The chocolate chips made a dainty addition and made the cupcakes seem more "authentic", like a real cupcake! My son (who is allergic to dairy, eggs & basics) and all fifty of our birthday guests, LOVED them. A definite keeper!
07/02/2005
Every bit I am a Christian it is dainty to have this when I am fasting from dairy. I tried it with finely chopped dried dates instead of the chocolate fries and it was succulent.
07/19/2000
I fabricated this for my daughter-in-laws birthday. Information technology was very moist and delicious and very easy to make. Information technology was a hit with anybody.
03/04/2009
A marvellous recipe for allergy sufferers! My 'dairy and egg allergic' 3 year one-time son has at last tried his first, 2nd, third and fourth piece of chocolate cake today. The only changes I made to the recipe were to utilize chocolate flavoured soya milk rather than water and I omitted the choc chips. Also I baked it for 40 minutes in a fluted ring. I noted some of the previous recommendations and fabricated sure I whisked the milk into the dry mixture for a good three minutes to avoid grittiness. I've broiled many chocolate cakes in the past, which have included egg and dairy and the merely difference I would say is that this cake is 'very slightly' more like a credibility, but but slightly. Yet, information technology was DELICIOUS. I actually can't sympathize how some people accept failed with this piece of cake recipe. I plan to utilise this recipe for my son's 4th altogether cake using a character shaped tin can. I was tempted to use the 'No Egg' past Orgran only decided to try without kickoff and come across how I got on. I don't call up information technology would take made any difference but I may at some indicate examination that theory! I will definitely be using this recipe for many years to come, even if my son grows out of his allergies! Savor!
06/08/2007
My son was diagnosed with allergy to milk and egg (among other things) six years ago. We've tried all the recipes and settled on this one several years ago -- we never use the other recipes. This one is hard to vanquish for ease and taste -- non-allergic tasters usually tin can't tell the difference. Nosotros utilise whole wheat pastry flour instead of all-purpose (Daughter is allergic to barley in the all-purpose) merely it'due south a expert way to increase whole grain intake. We likewise use apple cider vinegar instead of white vinegar. Watch out for chocolate chip ingredients if you use (we oft make without) -- if yous're trying to make this dairy-free you'll need to become either soy chocolate chips (from a health food store) or double night chocolate chips that have no milk added. Scout the ingredients! We sometimes top with skittles or hot cinammon candies.
03/21/2004
Wow! This cake is truly amazing and easy to prepare. Admittedly succulent. I took the advice of some of the other reviewers and I used Pillsbury Frosting (dairy-free) to ice the cake. I volition definitely be making this cake oftentimes! Thanks for such an easy and tasty recipe.
03/09/2006
This cake recipe is A-one! Fabled texture and flavor, light and lucious!! It saved my birthday - I've been dieting and had no butter in the business firm... didn't demand information technology hither at all! My frosting was a simple glaze of melted chocolate chips with some SoySilk hazelnut coffee creamer and it was the perfect touch. My one tip: apply an excellent quality veg oil as you are sure to taste it if you don't.
01/24/2007
These are delicious. You would never know that they are egg gratis. My girl has allergies to eggs and this was the showtime eggless recipe I tried. Information technology is super easy to prepare. My finicky eater, pie-snob hubby fifty-fifty raved. Awesome recipe!
12/09/2011
this was really boilerplate. perhaps for someone who is used to vegan broiled goods, information technology would gustatory modality adept. but compared to more rich archetype baked good, this really pales. the chocolate flavor is bland and very balmy, and the cake was rather gummy. i tried this bc i had run out of eggs (not bc nosotros were allergic or vegan.) very mediocre.
03/10/2009
This is the beginning egg free cake I have made that wasn't flat and didn't crumble and it was bully! You wouldn't know it was 'free' of so much!
09/30/2004
My neice is allergic to dairy and eggs, and has never had a proper birthday cake or been able to eat anyone elses ( and we take a huge family, so that is a lot of disappointment) till I tried this cake. It is now our standard birthday cake, so my piffling neice tin ever accept a piece of cake, and the delight on her face is wonderful to see. i have at present fabricated it one-half a dozen times, and everytime, it has come up out moist and delicious. Thanks, bridget!

Delicious recipe! I made them into cupcakes for my son's school since one of his classmates is allergic to eggs. Unfortunately I didn't realize until after I baked them that Tollhouse Chocolate Chips are processed in a establish that also processes peanuts (and its a nut-free school), and so I need to make a second batch without those. I estimate there's more for us to swallow at habitation!

I dear it, specially my husband and my daughter. I used carob in powder instead of cocoa powder. And it was swell. Plough out to exist egg-complimentary dairy-costless nut-free and chocolate-costless. Thanks

Than you for posting this recipe! I'm on a VERY restricted diet, and so finding a treat is awesome!! I used 1/2 cup applesauce & 1/iv + 2 tbsp of dear instead of carbohydrate. The cake was quite dumbo, but really tasty. When I fabricated it the second time, I omitted the cocoa powder and replaced it with the same amount of flour, and so replaced the chocolate chips with raisins and added cinnamon. (I used the same dear/applesuace combo, as well). It made a nice spicy cake!!!

Very practiced taste for an uncommon cake. I baked these for my daughter'south class, equally one kid had a dairy allergy. Everyone loved them.

This was a really good cake and a hit with all the kids at our party! You volition never miss the egg, dairy or nuts.

This is the only Chocolate Cupcake I utilize and it turns out moist and succulent every time! Y'all can't fifty-fifty tell that there is no eggs or milk in it! I love the addition of semi-sweet chocolate chips to the concoction, it makes the cupcake fifty-fifty more decadent! 5 stars all the way!

Like others, I was skeptical, but this block worked out surprisingly well and got skillful reviews past my taste tasters. I also made this cake gluten-free and so I substituted all-purpose GF mix using the aforementioned quantities. I doubled this recipe to make a decent size block and baked it in a bundt pan (bake it a bit more it says in the recipe if yous practice this), simply to make information technology look nicer really, every bit I knew I wasn't going to frost it, and so dusted it with icing sugar. I also served information technology with chocolate-covered strawberries - yum! I left out the chocolate chips. The only affair I think would ameliorate this is if it was served with a chocolate coat of some sort. And similar others have commented on already, I mixed the batter well (3 minutes with my KitchenAid stand mixer). I used to be a huge bakery before I discovered I was gluten-intolerant and GF goods have always turned me off, but this recipe restores my faith in baking!

Another adaptation of this smashing block is to apply 100grams Diary Gratuitous White Chocolate (I use the Sugariness William make) instead of the cocoa and the texture is more like a white chocolate mud cake but nevertheless quite lite, moist and fluffy when eaten. Fantastic cake!!! A huge cheers to the person that posted this recipe. My dairy intolerant baby boy can finally have a block for his b'day that wont upset his stomach.

This has been my go-to recipe for chocolate cakes, cupcakes - anything, since my oldest'southward ane yrs former bday party... in 2009. I chose it considering not all her "friends" were 1 even so and I wanted something condom for everyone to eat, but geez, this recipe is And then Good, I just kept using information technology since. And information technology'south a quickie to make too. Can whip it upward i. A jiffy, using only one mixing bowl, 1 fork and a spoon to spoon it at the stop, and a few measuring cups. Hardly any dishes. Piece of cake to double too. My family loves it and usually asks me to bake the cake/cupcakes with this recipe, and it'southward a hit at potlucks too. Try it - you'll never go back either ;)

No More Crumbly Cakes for us!!!! My son is allergic to eggs and we have tried many, many egg replacements and egg-gratuitous recipes for cakes. All of the them came out crumbly (you lot had to freeze the cake to exist able to water ice it and and so when you cutting it,the cake feel apart). This recipe, i am happy to say, did not do that. It cut like a "normal" cake and tasted swell likewise. The simply change i made was using milk instead of water (since we dont have a milk allergy consequence). It was wonderful in its texture and its flavor - nosotros will be using this all the time!!

This was super delish - my sister-in-constabulary made it too after trying mine! All my friends are asking me for more and estimate what - I actually prefer information technology and made information technology with carob fries and carob pulverization and never missed the actual chocolate! I dear it, information technology's super moist and has a neat presentation...very surprising...I have fabricated this times already!

Hubby and I had much higher expectations from the reviews. We made it exactly every bit stated except we used extra virgin olive oil instead of vegetable oil. It too took united states of america about 40 minutes until the tookpick came out clean. Married man'south comments: It's missing something, it didn't taste like cake simply like a mix betwixt a cookie and a brownie.

Keen cupcakes!! They really rose and didn't crumble apart when eating! Both my kids loved them. I generously scooped the heaping measure of cocoa and added 1 tsp of Pane Riso egg replacer to make certain they didn't come out crumbly which I actually don't call back I needed. I baked for 20 minutes to make 12 great looking cupcakes that you could hands frost without damaging the cake.

Better than the chocolate cake recipe on the Hershey's cocoa box! I brand cakes for family and friends, had a special asking for a dairy complimentary chocolate cake and then I went with this 1. Then very adept and moist! Stood up to me carving it into a fish shape too.
04/10/2014
This was swell! I gave it iv stars instead of 5 because I made 2 modifications based on comments and my own needs. I substituted coconut oil for the vegetable oil because I need to exist soy-free, and used kokosnoot milk instead of water. Similar others, I did non add chips to the batter merely I did sprinkle them on height of the frosting. I likewise made cupcakes, but volition definitely try this as a cake before long. I made sure to mix really well using a whisk. It was such an easy, quick recipe. No 1 would ever know it's dairy complimentary!!!

Crawly cake recipe! Later dicovering an allergy to eggs, I didn't think I'd get to consume truly bang-up block over again. I've tried dozens of recipes and this is the first that has tasted 'normal'... in the all-time (and tastiest) sense possible!
01/09/2013
On my 3rd attempt (I was determined to make this piece of work!) I made a few changes - and with those changes I would give this a solid v star rating. #1 - Practise NOT add chocolate fries - they sink to the bottom and brand a hard, stuck on mess of a crust, #2 - Use cold, strong coffee instead water, this makes upwardly for the lack of chocolate fries and adds depth to the chocolate without tasting any hint of java flavour, and #3 - grease, dust with cocoa pulverisation AND line with parchment newspaper, both the bottoms & sides and then grease/dust, those too. You cease up with a deliciously fudgy, dense chocolate cake that will non stick to the freaking pan!

This was better than the cake I bought for the guests! Yous don't miss the eggs or dairy.

These were really good! My daughter has an egg allergy, then I made these for her iii-yr-old soccer squad party. The kids ate them up and many of the parents were surprised they were dairy and egg free. I doubled the recipe and information technology fabricated 22 regular-sized cupcakes. I as well followed the advice of a previous reviewer and used 6 TBSP applesauce and 6 TBSP oil (for a double batch) to cut down on the oil. I too used whole wheat flour and it worked out fine. They took about 20 minutes in the oven and were perfectly done. Volition definitely brand again!

My son was but diagnosed with an egg and peanut allergy a month earlier his first birthday. I was desperate to find him a cake recipe. Thank you soooo much. He loves this. Really the whole family does! Definately 5 stars!!!

I made this for someone who is allergic to eggs and we loved it. Good to know there are proficient recipes that are allergy friendly. Thanks for sharing!
03/05/2015
This is a bully recipe! I have fabricated it many times now. My only effect is that the cake seems to implode on itself and create a crater in the middle once I take it out of the oven. I think this has something to practise with the vinegar inside, as this has happened to my blood-red velvet cakes likewise. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? I greatly appreciate it!
05/27/2009
I've been making this non-stop for all my egg-free cake needs. Last fourth dimension replaced the h2o with milk, I think it tasted better. Really adept with cream cheese frosting. Proficient egg-free cake recipe. Desire to find more.
